When should I seek help?
People come to therapy for different reasons. Sometimes there is a crisis; sometimes there is something that just will not resolve, or a pattern that repeats despite your attempts to change it.
The time to seek professional help is when something insists.
When you are ready to address what’s going on for you, and when you realise there is an urgency you may not have recognised before.
For those new to the idea of psychotherapy it is a big step, but in reality it is just a case of making your mind up that the time is right, picking up the phone or writing the email.
Do it now
Not later – but now. Putting it off solves nothing. Thinking “I will do it later, once I am ready” can itself become a way of leaving things untouched. If something insists, there may be something in it worth listening to.
What does it cost?
The initial consultation costs £80. After that I work on a sliding scale and charge between £80 and £100 depending on your annual income. Session fees are agreed in your initial consultation. Fees are payable by online transfer or cash.
A session usually lasts up to 45 minutes, depending on the work. A session may be shorter when ending at a particular moment is part of the work, rather than a matter of timekeeping.
